CS2 Mirage Complete Map Guide: Callouts, Strategies and Smokes

Mirage: The Ultimate Team Map

Mirage is one of the most balanced and popular maps in Counter-Strike 2. It rewards team coordination, utility usage, and smart rotations more than any other map in the pool. This guide covers callouts, strategies, and essential smokes for both sides.

Map Layout

Mirage features a classic three-lane design with a critical mid area:

  • A Site: Accessed through A Ramp (T side), Palace, or Connector
  • Mid: Central area with Window (sniper nest), Connector to A, and Underpass/Short to B
  • B Site: Accessed through B Apartments or Short (via mid)

Essential Callouts

A Site

  • A Ramp: Main T approach to A site
  • Palace: Alternative T approach through the building
  • Tetris: Stack of boxes on A site
  • Sandwich: Between Tetris and the wall
  • CT / CT Spawn: Behind A site toward CT spawn
  • Stairs: The stairs from CT to A site
  • Jungle: The plant area between A site and Connector
  • Triple: The three boxes on A site
  • Under Palace: Below the Palace entrance on A site
  • Firebox: The wooden box on A site

B Site

  • B Apartments (Apps): Building that leads to B site
  • B Short: From mid through Underpass/Cat to B site
  • Van: The van on B site
  • Bench: The bench area near B site
  • Kitchen: Behind B site toward CT
  • Market: The market area near CT side B
  • Arches: The arched area near B site

Mid Area

  • Top Mid: T-side entrance to mid
  • Window / Sniper Nest: The elevated window position mid CT side
  • Connector: Passage from mid to A site
  • Underpass / Short: Underground passage from mid to B Short
  • Catwalk / Cat: Elevated walkway in mid area
  • Ladder Room: Room with ladder in mid

T-Side Strategies

A Site Execute

The classic Mirage A execute requires 3 coordinated smokes:

  1. Smoke CT Spawn: Blocks rotation from CT to A site
  2. Smoke Stairs: Prevents the stairs player from seeing the push
  3. Smoke Jungle: Blocks Connector/Jungle player
  4. Flash over the buildings for the A Ramp push
  5. Palace players push simultaneously from Palace

Mid Control into Split

  1. Smoke Window to block the AWP
  2. Take mid control with 2-3 players
  3. From mid, split onto A (through Connector) or B (through Short)
  4. Remaining players push from the main approach to the chosen site

B Apartments Rush

  1. Smoke market/kitchen area
  2. Flash out of apartments
  3. Molotov Van to clear the common position
  4. Rush through and plant behind the box

CT-Side Setup

Standard Setup (1-1-2-1)

  • 1 player A Ramp: Early aggression or passive hold
  • 1 player Connector/Jungle: Watch mid and support A
  • 1 player Mid Window: AWP or rifle watching mid
  • 2 players B: One Apps, one Short/Market

Key CT Principles

  • Mid information is critical: If you lose mid, both sites are vulnerable to splits
  • Rotate through Connector: Fast CT rotations from B to A through mid and Connector
  • Do not over-commit to retakes: If the T-side executes cleanly with good utility, save weapons for next round

Essential Mirage Tips

  1. Window smoke is mandatory: T-side must smoke Window to contest mid safely
  2. Palace is underused: Many teams forget about Palace. Use it for pressure and split plays
  3. Connector is the key area: Whoever controls Connector controls rotation speed
  4. B Apps can be retaken: CTs should not panic-rotate when they hear B Apps contact. Mirage B retakes are very CT-sided
  5. Utility wins on Mirage: More than any other map, Mirage rewards teams that use all their grenades effectively

Conclusion

Mirage is the ultimate team map. It rewards communication, coordinated utility, and smart decision-making. Master the essential smokes, learn the callouts, and focus on mid control. Once your team can consistently execute A site and control mid, Mirage becomes one of the most enjoyable and rewarding maps in CS2.
