CS2 Beta Now Open to All Eligible Players!
A New Dawn for Counter-Strike Enthusiasts
The highly-anticipated next chapter of the Counter-Strike saga, Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), has officially opened its beta to a broader player base. Starting today, a wide range of players with specific eligibility requirements can join the Limited Test phase and immerse themselves in this groundbreaking tactical first-person shooter.
Introducing CS Rating
Alongside the beta expansion, the game’s developers announced the introduction of CS Rating—a sophisticated metric that provides a precise gauge of your skill level in CS2. With the incorporation of regional and World Leaderboards, players can now measure their performance and see where they stand against competitors globally.
New Competitive Features
One of the significant changes is the introduction of per-map Skill Groups in the competitive mode. This allows players to master specific maps while honing their skills on others. In a refreshing update, match lengths will now feature 12-round halves, along with an overtime feature to ensure a conclusive winner.
Eligibility and Testing
To be eligible for this exciting Limited Test, players must have CS:GO Prime Status, an active Competitive Skill Group, and play most of their official matchmaking games in one of the selected regions where the test is available. If you meet these criteria and haven’t yet explored CS2, now’s your chance to jump in.
Bug Reporting
As the game is still in its beta stage, the developers encourage players to report any bugs they encounter. Send your CS2 bug reports to cs2team [at] valvesoftware [dot] com and be sure to title your email with “CS2LT Bug – ” followed by a brief description. If you have a video illustrating the bug, uploading it online and providing a link will expedite the triage and resolution process.
