CS2 skins & trading
Patterns, finishes, and the details that make a collection yours. Explore our skin and trading guide archive.
Find your next favourite finish
Start with a finish, understand what you’re collecting, then explore the trading archive. Historical prices are snapshots, not live valuations.
NO MATCH. NEW APPROACH.
Try a shorter search or explore another topic.
Look beyond the finish name.
A useful skin description tells you what the item is and why two examples can look different. Learn the vocabulary before comparing a screenshot, a listing or an old price reference.
Separate finish, wear and pattern.
The finish describes the design applied to the weapon. Wear describes its condition, while the float value provides a more precise condition value. The pattern can affect the placement of colours or details on finishes where pattern variation matters.
Look at the actual item as well as its title. A guide to a finish explains a family of items; it does not guarantee that every example has the same appearance.
Explore finishes & patternsRead the whole item description.
Check the weapon, finish, condition and any special item attributes together. Stickers, naming and presentation can make a screenshot look distinctive without changing the underlying finish. Use the in-game inspection to understand what is included.
Collection guides are useful for discovering themes and learning terminology. Historical price examples belong to the date of that article; this archive does not provide live market valuations.
Browse collecting guidesUnderstand what a platform actually does.
A marketplace listing, a trade offer and a third-party account balance describe different things. Read which item would change hands, who is involved and which platform controls the transaction. Keep the item’s identity separate from claims in messages or screenshots.
The trading archive provides context around that ecosystem. For present Steam trade protections and restrictions, use Steam Support alongside the original article rather than assuming an older workflow still applies.
Steam: trade-protected itemsGood questions.
Are the prices in these guides current?
No. Prices in an archived article are historical examples from its publication period. This site does not maintain a live pricing feed or value individual inventories.
Are all skins with the same name identical?
A finish name alone does not describe every property of an individual item. Condition, float, pattern and applied stickers can be relevant to how the particular example looks.
Where do I start if I only want to understand skins?
Start with finishes and collecting. Learn the terminology and compare the visual examples before reading about marketplaces or trading workflows.
